You would be working with our company founder Jeremy Chatfield, who has previously been a software R&D Manager and has been running commercial web sites since 1994. Your primary experience needs to be with object oriented programming languages, SQL databases and web application development. The innovation in these projects is largely the approach taken to solving the business problem, rather than computer science innovation. For the current projects, we're not expecting visitor volumes in the range that cause scaling problems - so we don't need some world beating uber-genius, just someone that groks web applications, routes, models, refactoring, and incremental web development.
This role may suit a recent graduate more than a multi-year veteran, but we're happy to hear from either.
We have offices in Bedford - about a 40 minute train ride North of London. You'd need to show up once in a while. When planning architecture, etc, some face-time usually works better. If you prefer to work in an office, we can provide a quiet working environment in a modern facility.
Pay: negotiable. Depends on skills and experience.
What will win is a focus on delivering results, even if it means having to learn new stuff.
